WAHN Wales Arts for HealthNetwork is an open network, representing 80+ arts and health professionals across Wales. It is free to join and open to anyone working in, or with an interest in the field of arts in health. WAHN is a Welsh word meaning apart - to be different.... The Network is coordinated by Angela Rogers, Development Coordinator, engage Cymru. To join email Angela at firstname.lastname@example.org
The Network represents arts and health professionals, including health board arts coordinators, artists and practitioners (all art forms) and academics. It has been successful in securing five rounds of Sharing Together funding over the past few years which has supported a good range of networking and sharing opportunities, including meetings and a symposium in May 2016. Events have included contributions from a wide range of experts in the field of arts and health, including Alex Coulter, Arts & Health South West; Tim Joss, Ae-sop; and Professor John Wyn Owen. One of the key recommendations made by the Network at the Symposium was the development of a Cross Party Group for Arts in Health in Wales. We are delighted that this has been initiated, with the first open meeting taking place in September 2016, demonstrating a clear commitment from both the Arts Council of Wales and Welsh Government to build on this important field of work.
The Network is supported through the Arts Council of Wales Sharing Together fund - a strategic initiative to encourage the development of networking opportunities. See more here
